VID centres run out of licensing stationery

THE Vehicle Inspectorate Department (VID) in stations around the country have run out of stationery to produce leaners’ licences and other requisite materials.

It is now more than a month with several depots having stopped road tests due to the unavailability of the paper on which drivers’ licenses are rolled out.

The development was yesterday confirmed by VID director, Joseph Pedzapasi.

The national VID director said the problem, which was now developing into nationwide problem, had now become a national embarrassment.

Pedzapasi, however, said the problem would be fixed within a week.

“It is true that we have that challenge. Our printers, Printflow, didn’t deliver the stationery due to a payment issue.

“We have since paid them and the problem will be rectified this week and the stationery made available,” Pedzapasi said.
