Demolitions Day 2: Mayhem at Mbudzi roundabout

THERE was mayhem at Mbudzi Roundabout in Harare on Tuesday as vendors jostled to remove their wares from illegal stalls when the bulldozer arrived to demolish the structures for the second day.

Despite watching others lose their structures and, in some cases, valuables, the vendors did not remove their wares hoping that the operation had moved to other locations.

And when the bulldozer returned yesterday, it triggered a scramble which left some nursing injuries sustained while removing iron sheets and removing hot stoves and braai stands.
