Police are still on the hunt for a dangerous suspect who escaped from a prison official’s custody at Eshowe Court on Friday.

Police spokesperson Colonel Thembeka Mbele said the criminal escaped on Friday.
“The suspect is identified as Lungelo Diploma Nzuza (Khaba) and is 23-years-old. Nzuza was arrested and has appeared in court for five counts of rape, one attempted murder and two counts of house robbery.”
She said the suspect is formally from the Lambothi area in Nyoni.
“Members of the community who have knowledge of the whereabouts of the suspect are urged not to approach him as he is dangerous.”
She urged those who see or know his whereabouts to rather contact the Investigating officer Sergeant Mbabane on 079 946 7082 or Crime Stop on 08600 10111.
Meanwhile, in a separate incident, a 43-year-old man has died in a shooting incident in Germiston on Sunday afternoon.
According to ER24 spokesperson Ross Campbell the shooting happened on Voortrekker Street in Elsburg.
“ER24 paramedics arrived on the scene at 14:30 along with GPG, EMPD, and the SAPS.”
Campbell said the man in question was found lying in the street.
“The man was found in a critical state, having suffered a gunshot wound to the chest.”
