Police probe shooting of Grade 6 teacher

CAPE TOWN – Police are investigating another school shooting, this time at a primary school in Heinz Park in Cape Town.


A Grade 6 teacher was gunned down after he parked his vehicle on the school grounds in the morning before school started.


Shocked teachers did not want to be interviewed about the incident and pupils have been sent home.

The Western Cape Education Department has confirmed that a teacher at Heinz Park Primary School was shot and killed on school premises.


Locals say the incident took place just before 8am.

Witnesses said they heard gunshots fired and after that they saw two men leaving school premises.


It’s still unclear what led to the shooting incident.
