Ugandan Minister’s Assassinated Daughter Buried In A Wedding Gown

The slain daughter of Uganda’s outgoing Transport and Works minister Gen Katumba Wamala, was buried on Thursday while dressed in a wedding gown.

Brenda Nantongo (32) died on Tuesday after the car she was in came under attack from gunmen in an assassination attempt on her father in Kisaasi, a Kampala suburb.Speaking during the funeral service on Wednesday, Brenda’s mother, Christine Katumba, explained the reason why they decided to bury Brenda dressed in a wedding gown.

 

She said the family decided to bury her in a wedding dress because she had always looked forward to having a wedding.

The Citizen reports that at the funeral service, Brenda’s body was in a glittering hard-wood casket. She had on a sleeveless, round-necked cream satin gown with white pearls. A cocktail hat was clipped to her trimmed hair.

 

The funeral service was reportedly an emotional affair as each speaker talked about her untimely death and how she wished to get married one day.
