ZESA cables thieves jailed 10 years

Two Glendale ZESA cables thieves Clever Mbangale (26) and Tafadzwa Murehwa (26) both from Venabo farm, Glendale were convicted by Bindura magistrate Esteri Chivasa yesterday.

 

 

Prosecutor Clement Kuwanda told the court that on March 28 last year the duo hatched a plan to steal ZESA cables for resale.

They went to a near by ZESA pole in the farm and cut a 12 meter cable and proceeded to Viginia farm, Glendale where they sold the cable to Tomazhi Manyara.

 

On March 29 the convicts were confronted by two villagers and went on to recover the stolen cable from Manyara’s homestead.
